emz in Nabburg drew a crowd of visitors

On 26 and 27 April, two large groups visited our headquarters in Nabburg at the same time. The guests we were hosting were a work group "Senioren aktiv", an association of active senior citizens in the Catholic Employees Movement, and the REFA association from Amberg. Both guided tours started with a presentation about the company in which our Markus Block from Human Resources informed our guests about the history of emz as well as about the most important customers, products and the locations spread all over the world.

The lecture to the group of active senior citizens was focused on the question: “Why is emz a good employer?” The 38 participants, whose annual programme covers topics such as health, politics, culture and religion, learned about emz's various approaches in domains such as flexible working hour models, personnel development including training, and various voluntary social benefits. The lecture held for the REFA association revolved especially around issues concerning workplace design, business organisation and company development - these being exactly the topics the REFA association deals with. To this effect, three experienced executives from the Production Department were on hand to answer the questions posed by the 23 interested members of REFA.

After the presentation, both visitor groups were shown round in a comprehensive company tour. In the REFA group, topics such as production automation and rapid prototyping soon reached an expert level. In contrast, the company tour for the Catholic Employees Movement was more about the basics of modern manufacturing, such as the functional principle of plastics injection moulding, or logistic topics. Surprised, one of the female visitors, who had worked in textile production previously, said: “It is unbelievable, all these machines and robots everywhere. For me, this is a completely different world!'” However, both visitor groups alike were impressed by our new CIS (Customer Information Space).
