On September 1, 2019, emz opened a new development office for MobileApps and WebApps in Pilsen and already employs 4 colleagues there. On January 30, 2020, the office was handed over to its "official" purpose and now goes by CAC – Customer Applications Centre as part of a ceremony with guests of honour and executives.
This is a decisive step on the strategic path to becoming a global provider of solutions enabling the Internet of Things in the waste management and recycling sector. Already a number of years ago, the environment division of emz developed "egate", an intelligent access system for waste collection, one of the first applications worldwide specifically for the so-called Internet of Things.
As a result of the increasing digitalisation, with "egate digi" the world's first app for waste quantity recording, a product with significant added value for our customers was developed. For this product we were honoured with the German Innovation Award 2019.
emz thus considers itself a full-service provider in the waste disposal market, servicing its customers from its own value added activities: from the development of hardware, embedded software, mechanics, mobile and web apps, service and sales to production in the waste disposal market. There is currently no competitor offering the same broad range of products.
Precisely for this reason technologies such as apps and data management systems became the company's core competence. The in-house software development group in Plzen means that digitisation can be utilised even more effectively for emz products.
